Unknown

The day takes its last melancholic breath
Letting the darkness overshadow its beauty
I lay on the pillow of my solitude
Staring at the ruthless moon

The stars stare at me with the same hollowness
And I know how it feels
To twinkle magnificently, yet be so lonely…

  1. ......and the beauty of these lines did overshadow the ‘poetic forlornness’ of the reader;the ‘ruthless moon’ and the ‘star’s stare’ deflecting the poet's 'reflecting mind'. Loved the reverse juxtaposition in the lines ..And I know how it feels/To twinkle magnificently, yet be so lonely…
    Lovely.

  2. Nicely written. I liked the subtleties of life for a loner that you have highlighted here. I was wondering if you had a line that started with "h" in the second stanza as the second last one, then reading down to up the first letters would make "that silt". :-)
